Via the Broom.

The Toronto Star‘s Oakland Ross profiles Hussein Naboulsi—Lebanese nationalist and Hezbollah terrorist—waxing poetic about the charms of his adopted country, Canada.

“For me, Canada is the best country in the world, no comparison,” Naboulsi declares, pretty much out of the blue. “Peace? Tranquility? In Canada, you will have it. I am so much in love with this country.”

…”I had this instinct,” he recalls. “`Hussein, you should move to Canada.’ I went to Canada, and I fell in love. I loved the air, the soil, the trees, the people. Canada is my life.”

…During his Canadian sojourn, Naboulsi earned his keep selling subscriptions to Maclean’s magazine, but he also travelled. He speaks glowingly of visits to Hamilton, London and Kingston. He laments not having gone to Winnipeg.

“In those towns, you feel far from political events,” he says. “It’s living just for living.”

Well yeah.  Everyone wants minimum hassles in life, which is why democracy coupled with the rule of law is such a winning formula.  And yet clowns like Mr. Naboulsi are busy tearing down the only country in the Middle East that offers that kind of life for its citizens.
