Aviation geek alert: CC-177 tail 703 due Apr 16th

I was thinking of running up to Trenton whenever our next two CC-177s were due in, but since they are going to be flying in on weekdays, that probably won’t happen.

The third of four Globemaster transport planes ordered by the Canadian Forces will arrivein Trenton this month.

Maj. Isabelle Robitaille, head public affairs officer at CFB Trenton, said arrival times are still tentative, but the order’s third CC-177 Globemaster III is slated to land in Trenton April 16. The fourth and final is expected there May 1.

“That’s never set in stone with aircraft, but that’s what we expect,” she said Tuesday.

Still, it would be nice to see these birds in action.  It would be interesting to know whether operational demands will keep them away from the air show circuit this summer.
